Can we go back to July now? I mean, I love fall colors and sweater weather as much as the next girl. But who doesnt love their birthday month?! But really, I just want an excuse to have a pretty cake every week.
I was lucky enough to be picked to particiapte in the Cakelabs event held by Simply Cakes by Camberly and so I got my birthday cake for cost!! Yup cost!! I was estatic!!
I sent a photo for inspiration to Camberly, and she knocked it out of the park, over the water and into the next county! Seriously, I was absolutly blown away by her work! Each succulent was individually made and placed on the cake! The colors, the flavor and the design were all even better than I ever could have imagined!
Honestly, this is a cake I would buy again and again at whatever price! It was so hard to cut because I just wanted to look at it forever, but it smelled too damn good to let go to waist.
I have no idea how long it took her to make it all, but I know every ounce to talent shows!
If you need a cake for any occasion, such as a birthday, wedding, party or tuesday, Camberly is your gal. I promise you wont be dissapointed. Pinky promise!
You can check out all of the pretty work below as well as her contact info. Because seriously, you need to call her. Now.

Happy June!! And it just so happens to be a Thursday! So welcome to edition 4 of Thursday Thoughts! With the holiday weekend it’s been a crazy few days and I seem to have really lost myself this week. But we’re here, and we made it!
So here you go, our maybe-something, maybe-nothing moments and thoughts from this week!
1. My first pet was a rabbit. I named her White Rabbit. Original.
2. I was the Capitan of my high school dive team. It’s something I just did for fun, but I can trace some of my posing techniques back to my diving form! Thanks, FMHS.
Happy Thursday! If this is your first Thursday Thoughts be sure to check out the first two here and here!
Happy Thursday friends! I can’t believe we’re already back here! These days things just seem to go by so fast! That is one reason why I started Thursday Thoughts – just to take a moment and remember everything that made our week so fun and fast-paced. So if you missed last weeks wrap-up head here first and then – well read on for some fun, maybe-something, maybe-nothing moments from our week!
He had wanted to know yesterday during the ultrasound. He was so nervous. He had prayed. A lot. He wanted a son more than anything in the world. But none of that was up to him now. Family and friends gathered in the park. Everyone chatted excitedly, waiting for the moment we would all finally know.
We opened up the door, walked into a large empty room, and just smiled. Slowly we wandered from room to room, even though we had already been in the whole place. We carried little Porter out to the backyard. He was so small, just fifteen weeks, and the grass tickled his belly and sides as he wandered around looking for his new “spot”. We popped a bottle of cheap champagne open and clinked glasses. Holding each other in the middle of the new-to-us kitchen, everything that had just happened slowly started to sink in. It really happened, this wasn’t just a dream. We had the keys, and no one was going to tell us we couldn’t paint the walls.
We were officially homeowners!
Happy Thursday Friends!!
So I saw a post the other day that talked about how forever is made of lots of little “nows” So i really wanted to start remembering all of the little things that mean nothing, or everything but really make up our week. So, say hello to my Thursday Thoughts! It’s definitely one of my more personal post series, but I’m really excited for it! So hopefully you had some really great moments to remember that bring you a little closer to the weekend! Here we go!!
Want to know a fun fact about me? Something I don’t usually talk about? Yeah, well, here ya go!
I own camo.
Yup, the girl who is obsessed with pastels, peonies and weddings owns some camo pants, a shirt and a bright orange vest. Oh, and lets not forget the orange Elmer Fudd hat. I got that to match the vest. It’s a good look. I promise.
